Why Motivation is so Important in your Life?
We all hear the word motivation in so many places nowadays. And have you ever thought that WOW, what actually MOTIVATION is? How am I not motivated all the time!
In simple language, motivation is the catalyst for success and growth. It is the fire in your ass which don't let you sit around on the couch all day watching all the useless YouTube videos which don't bring value to your life.
Motivation is an important skill. All persons are not equally motivated. Some people have the drive to do something meaningful in their life but lack the motivation to do it. In the end, they don't start at all. If Mark Zuckerberg was not motivated to create Facebook, we wouldn't ever have the privilege to use Facebook and Whatsapp like we do now.
You live in a world where motivation has solved problems and made the world a better place to live.
In our education system, we are not taught how to self motivate ourselves. That's why we lack vision and failed to identify our goals. As you grow up, you understand the value of motivation and how it pushes you towards your goal.
There is a quote that says
the best time to start was yesterday, the second-best is today.
If you still do not understand the importance of motivation, here are 7 reasons why motivation is essential in life.
1. Motivation defines your GOAL
As you grow up, you feel like something is missing within you, you start to question your existence. You see people getting better, improving, and think about your failures and get jealous of them. You want to change something in your life. Maybe you don't like the way you look, or perhaps you hate going to
work and do the same work every day.
What you do?
You identify the problem and make a goal to come out of the problem. Whether you want to pursue a career you desire or want to start something on your own, its MOTIVATION pushes you to pursue your goal.
2. Motivation helps you Prioritize
Once you clarify your goal, the next step is to prioritize your actions according to your goal. See, let's face the fact that works need effort. If you want to have a great body, you must set time aside everyday to workout. If you need to start a side hustle, you have to work hard.
3. Motivation helps you take action
A plan is just some points written on a paper UNLESS YOU TAKE ACTION. Anybody can have a plan. But to be successful, you need to take consistent, practical definite actions towards your goal.
I know It's hard.
Some days you just don't want to do the work. These days motivation will really push you to do the work necessary and take action.
4. Motivation Teaches Perseverance
Perseverance is one of the best life skills you should develop in yourself. SO far, you have a plan, and you started taking action.
As you start to work, you realize it's so damn hard. It builds frustration. and you start to think "maybe this isn't for me", "I don't think I can do this" And from that 90% of people drop the work and go back to square one, If you don't have enough motivation about your work you will never make it to the other side.
You probably know the great Muhammad Ali. Once, he told in an interview
"I hated every minute of training, but I said to myself, "don't quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion."'
He pushed himself, refused to quit when things got hard. This is a key quality of successful people. "live the rest of your life as a champion" was his motivation.
5. Motivation Keeps you on track
Achieving something in life is a longtime project. It may take years and years of constant and disciplined work. And it's easy to lose motivation in the long run.
If you let that happen, you may go back where you started. I like to think motivation is like food for your soul. Like the food, you need to take a dose of motivation every day. Remind yourself of your goals every morning. Remember why you started. Keep track of your achievements. This way, you can contain your motivation.
6. Motivation makes you fight your fears
Have you ever thought about what is your biggest fear? I am sure it's the fear of failure, fear of embarrassment in front of peers, fear of what people think. And these fears keep you from taking action towards your dream.
With the right motivation, you can kick the fear of failure out of the park. You can think of motivation as desperation. Desperation to improve yourself constantly. No matter what, you are going to take the leap anyway. Motivated people think beyond their fears and think of the other side of the fear.
7. Motivation Inspire others
Motivation is very infectious. Self- motivated people are really attractive, and you feel you can move the mountain around them. Because self-motivated people emit a good vibe around them. Which elevates your confidence and self-worth. Seek a mentor who is self-motivated, and it will help you achieve success in life.
8. Motivation gives confidence
Confidence comes from knowledge, and knowledge comes from experiences, either good or bad. Till now, you have made a plan and took action according to it. You may succeed or fail shortly.
You realize that failure doesn't define you, and you become comfortable with failure, and it doesn't bother you anymore.
This feeling is powerful. The moment you realize failure is a part of the process, and it doesn't define you, you become confident. And it gives you the motivation to start new things.
9. Motivation leads to fulfillment
Motivation enhances self-confidence. And it makes you improve yourself.
Trust me, you won't feel anything at the moment, and it will feel like you are wasting time. But after a couple of years, you will look back and say, "Damn! I've come this far." It will motivate you to improve yourself further and push yourself further to achieve more success.
Motivation is like working out. You can't make a great body without doing a workout every day; similarly, you cannot be motivated for once and live life with that. It's a constant process.
Read Self-improvement books, meditate, watch motivational videos, read a biography of successful people. It will enhance your prospect and also keeps you motivated.
