10 LIFE HACKS TO BE MORE PRODUCTIVE & GET YOUR LIFE ON TRACK?

10 LIFE HACKS TO GET YOUR LIFE ON TRACK?

What do you understand when you hear the word productivity?

Productivity doesn't mean getting more things done. Productivity means doing the work necessary and doing it most efficiently.

For example, if you want to lose 10 kg of weight, doing an insane amount of workout isn't going to be fruitful if you don't watch what you are eating.

Productivity isn't rocket science either. I have some small hacks which will let you be more productive in your daily life and get things done.

1. Wake up Early.

You probably heard this one many times before, from your parents, teachers, well-wishers, etc. Let's hear it from me once again. Waking up early has a huge impact on your daily productivity. Think about it. Not hitting the Snooze Button!
It takes a lot of will power to do that. (You have my respect for that).

When you wake up early you get plenty of time to sort your day. It gives you an edge over your day. You can plan your day better and don't have to rush through every task. You'll be in CONTROL and start to enjoy your day.

Maybe you want to work out or pursue your passion. Whatever you like. Starting your day with a positive node will boost your mood and boost your productivity.

2. Eat Mindfully.

You know what they say, You are what you eat. Your choice of food has the biggest impact on your productivity. Either you stuck yourself with junk food or you take time to prepare and consciously indulge in healthy habits that can tell if you are serious about yourself or not.

Eat to live, not live to eat. Try to eliminate processed food and sugar from your diet.  As the toxins from those foods will make you uncomfortable and hamper your productivity.

3. Meditation.

Many people think that Meditation is a Hoax. Noting actually happens with meditation. But It is scientifically proven that meditation has a lot of benefits in how you think and behave.

In this fast-paced world, there is a lot of stress you are dealing with every day. Meditation can help you release the stress and relax, It will help you calm yourself and better focus on your work.

Also, people think meditation is a hard process. Well, it sure doesn't have to be. 10 minutes of mindful breathing every morning will be sufficient.

4. Make a To-Do List.

In life, we have a lot of things to do. And keeping track of them is no walk in the park. We always tend to forget the tasks.

The easy solution for this is to create a to-do list for your daily activity and give yourself a deadline. Often times we underestimate our personal growth and take it for granted. Don't do it. Treat your goal as your job. create a proper schedule. and Act accordingly.
As you clarify your daily schedule you can work much quicker and without any friction, thus increasing your productivity.

5. Put your Phone Away.

Your phone is one of the major distractions on the way of productivity. The phone is designed to look at it all day.

Every Notification sound, every vibration, every screen on invites you to pick up your phone and start scrolling. Sometimes the visual cue of the phone laying there is enough to trigger that.

So I suggest to completely remove the distraction from your workplace. Put your phone in a different room than your workroom, so you can remove the temptation to check the phone all the time.

6. Know your focus time.

Everyone has a specific time when their focus is razer-sharp. It can vary from day to day,  but on average if you notice you will find that there is a specific time when you are the most productive. Use this time to your advantage. Schedule your work in such a way that the most difficult task coincides with your focus time. That way you can get more work done without feeling exhausted or bored.

7. Make your bed every day.

In the book "Make Your Bed" by William H. McRaven, the writer talks about making the bed every day. You will accomplish the first task of the day. It will give you a sense of pride and motivate you to complete the tasks necessary in your day. Like he said in the book "If you cannot do the little things right, you will never do the big things right"

8. Carry a Notebook.

It's funny that ideas don't come when you are looking for them. Ideas come totally unexpectedly. So you should have something handy to capture your idea before you forget. Because once a million-dollar idea is gone, it's gone forever.
That's why you should always carry a notebook with you everywhere. However, nowadays you can also use note-taking mobile apps like Evernote, Google Keep, One-note to name a few.

9. Reward Yourself.

We feel the urge to procrastinate most when we need to do the important work. That's just human nature. But we can use this to leverage our productivity.

Tell yourself that, I will scroll through Instagram after I work for an hour or finish the article or whatever your task in hand.

By rewarding yourself you are creating self-motivation to increase productivity.

10. Use "5 Second Rule"

Mel Robbins has discussed a life hack that I particularly use every day. It is very simple actually. When you know that you have to do some work, you count from 5 to 0 backward and do it. The counting will distract you from overthinking and force you to focus on the task in hand.

The catch here is you have to do the work immediately after counting stops because if you pause here, your mind will go back to its initial stage. Ultimately productivity will suffer.

Productivity is hard and we all want to improve on it. And applying these tips will surely help you to boost your productivity and get your life on track.
